fetes and festivals

What a contrast - is summer really here? Had a hint it was coming last sunday at Old Wulfrunians fete for Promise Dreams. We had the gazebo again but as Frankie was working James came along to help. Now he knows why we need to arrive 2 hours before the start time - erecting the gazebo and stand can be interesting!!

We had a good spot by the door to the main marquee and also looked out on to the fairground attractions. Was a bit muddy underfoot but we were able to sell from two sides of the gazebo. The dried fruit dangles continue to go well as did the lavender bundles, hearts and organza bags and as usual we sold a fair number of the calligraphy cards. The weather got better as the day went on and thank goodness there was no wind to speak of. All in all a satisfactory day and we felt that we helped the charity as well.

This Sunday James and I are off to Bourton Hall festival near Rugby. This will be an early start as the event opens at 10am so we need to be there for 8, leaving home at 7'sh! As it doesn't finish till about 7pm this could be a long day. Event is being organised by Southam 2000 Rotary Club in aid of End Polio Now and as a fellow Rotarian I can fully support the event. Its a mix of vintage car rally and 3 stages with live pop music with other attractions thrown in around the grounds. Apparently 7-800 people are expected so fingers crossed it will be a good day. Weather forecast is for it to be bright and sunny although with a bit of a breeze so the storm gear will be with us again! Only a couple of fathers day cards left so hopefully they'll go.

We've also booked in for the Malvern Food Festival on 2nd June (selling food you can't eat at a food festival - how quirky is that) and other events which are listed on our events page. Why not check them out as we'd love to see you.
